In late December, Far East Holding Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Far East) decided to donate RMB 120 million to Far East Charitable Foundation in 2017 for the foundation of Far East Education Award Fund, and submitted the decision to Yixing Municipal Education Bureau for filing. Far East Education Award Fund will take out RMB 6 million a year to award excellent teachers and students with outstanding achievements throughout Yixing City in next 20 years.

　　Far East always remembers its responsibility during the development and fulfills its social responsibility by devoting to public welfare. Far East established High School and College Entrance Examination Scholarship for staff’s children in 2006. Totaling over RMB 1.3 million, the Scholarship has been issuing for 10 years up to now to help staff’s children to continue their studies. Far East Charitable Foundation, established by Far East in 2007, has issued scholarships and awards for teachers of nearly RMB 2 million to regions around Far East. In 2016, Far East donated another RMB 2 million to “Jiangnan University Education Development Foundation” to use in such aspects as grants, scholarships, awards for teachers and cross-disciplinary interviewing. Far East has donated over RMB 11 million only this year. Since 2014, Far East has been honored as the Charity Enterprise with the Most Compassion of “Jiangsu Charity Award” for three consecutive years.

　　The donation of RMB 120 million is the largest sum of charity fund donated by Far East so far. Kong Qunling, Director of Department of Party, Union, Masses and Youth League Affairs of Far East and Assistant Secretary-General of Far East Charitable Foundation, introduced that Far East always stick to the coordinated development of industry, education and charity. The establishment of Far East Education Award Fund intended to promote the development of Yixing’s educational career by awarding excellent teachers and students throughout the city. According to the Regulation on the Implementation of Far East Education Award Fund, every year RMB 6 million will be used to award teachers who are excellent in both performing skills and moral integrity and students who are excellent in both studies and behaviors. As for awards for teachers, every year the Fund will award 80 teachers with such titles as Yixing Municipal Education Models, Yixing Municipal Outstanding Young Teachers and Yixing Municipal Beautiful Village Teachers, as well as schools and teachers with great achievements in high school and college entrance examination. As for scholarships, the Fund sets up five kinds of scholarships, including RMB 100,000 for Jiangsu Provincial Top Scorers of liberal arts and science respectively, and RMB 50,000 for Wuxi Municipal Top Scorers of liberal arts and science respectively. In addition to above-mentioned awards for teachers and scholarships for teachers and students of Yixing City, the Fund also established awards for teachers and scholarships for primary schools and junior middle schools of Gaocheng Town and children of Far East’s staff.

　　The establishment of Far East Education Award Fund has encouraged many people. Huang Xuejiao, Chinese Teacher of Yixing’s Mingling Primary School, was overjoyed when she learned that Far East had established Far East Education Award Fund. Huang Xuejiao indicated that since the awards for teachers awarded excellent village teachers throughout Yixing City, it took targeted measures in educational poverty alleviation, and among which the “Beautiful Village Teachers would stimulate the teaching enthusiasm of teachers who work in remote areas and help them to devote to their teaching careers better by convincing them that their efforts were regarded by society.” Wan Jing, a staff of Far East who lives in Gaocheng, was proud of Far East’s big donation for charity education and was happy for his son who was studying in Yixing’s Gaocheng Junior Middle School. “I often regretted not sending my son to school in the city before. However, now I believe that the rich fund will bring positive influence on the promotion of teaching quality by encouraging teachers and students of Gaocheng Town.” Wan Jing said confidently.
